Suitable For: Women & Men
Format: Oil Perfume
Dark Fruit and Something Sharper Underneath
It opens almost like a bowl of fruit, raspberry, pomegranate, plum, rhubarb, watermelon, juicy and unexpected. But this isn't a sweet fragrance. Lily, jasmine and rose arrive with pink pepper and clove, and the whole thing turns spiced and a little serious. Cedar, patchouli, musk and amber take it somewhere darker still.
Elegant rather than pretty. It suits an evening, a good coat, and cold air.
Why the oil suits this one especially
Fruit notes are the first thing alcohol destroys. A spray gives you that raspberry-and-pomegranate opening for about twenty minutes and then hands you the base. Oil has nothing to evaporate, so the fruit stays in the picture while the spice and cedar come up underneath it, which is the whole point of this fragrance.
It also clings to a scarf or a coat collar in a way alcohol doesn't, and you'll catch it again on the way home.
Why 10ml is not a small bottle
Concentrated oil is a dab at the wrists and the base of the neck, not three or four sprays into the air. A 3ml gives around sixty wearings. The 10ml runs to roughly two hundred.
Never worn an oil before?
Start with the 3ml at £5.99. Dab it on, don't rub it in, and give it ten minutes before you decide. Oils open on the skin rather than in the air, so the first thirty seconds tell you almost nothing.
Alcohol-free and concentrated.
Want the spray anyway? The same blend is available as a parfum in 30ml and 50ml, from £9.99. See 535 Parfum →
